To some, the Dharavi slum is the largest “slum” in Asia, with nearly a million people living there. But that is certainly not all.
Dharavi is a city within a city. Hospitals, hotels, schools, cinemas, and mobile galleries, everything can be found there. During the day, the place is bustling with various sounds and activities that take place: Sewing, embroidery, tailoring, readymade garment industries, bakeries, dyeing factories, recycling of plastics, soap factories, block printers, and many other businesses and residences spread across 550 acres and with an economy estimated to be worth over US$650 million!
The Cruise tour of Dharavi offers a unique experience. its not a “slum watching tour” where you see the poor people and their poverty, but it is a tour of the small industries and factories that shows you their qualities, which are: unlimited energy, diligence, determination, and people’s spirit of optimism! These are some of the many qualities that leave an impression on our hearts, minds, and souls.
Our Dharavi cruise tour packages guide, will explain the entire workings of the slums and help you interact with the locals there, will always accompany you. You will have the opportunity to visit a typical home and see how families live their everyday life.
We support the noble cause for the people living in the Dharavi slums with our charity arm known as ‘Mumbai Moments Love & Care’ by helping them all in every possible way including food kits, notebooks, pens & pencils, school bags, tuition fees for underprivileged and much more.
