Overview

Dharavi Slums is the subject of many misconceptions. To shed light on what is genuinely the Dharavi Slums, you will be witnessing firsthand what a thriving industry it is.

With more than 5000 different businesses, Dharavi is a city within a city and the largest slum in India. From leather tannery, tailoring, pottery, baking, and soap making, you will meet those hardworking people whose trade skills have been passed from generation to generation.

It also houses one of India’s largest recycling industries. Except for people, everything gets a second life in Dharavi: metal, plastic, cardboard … you name it!

It is a multi-religion, multicultural, and multi-ethnic community. With its schools, hospitals, shops, and movie theaters, Dharavi is a self-sufficient entity.

Like our other tours, this tour is also a part of our sustainable tourism vocation. By being a guest, you'll be contributing to the local economy and giving underprivileged children a reason to shine and smile!

You will also have a chance to try your hand at pottery. And to make the experience even more unforgettable, you will be invited to a home-cooked meal at our guide’s home.  It's true that our houses are tiny, but our hearts are warm and big.

So come with us on our Dharavi slums group tour to unlock the mystery of everlasting smiles & happy faces.
